I've been drawing/painting for most of my eighty one years, and this is my first self portrait. The original is not for sale: But, not including shipping, the price is $400. for a 16"X20" portrait of one person, on a canvas, gallery wrapped stretcher frame.
For appointment, phone, my Fox Island WA, studio/gallery1 253 549 7700.
I don't know what this has to do with anything, but just think, nothing exists but this flowing moment, this NOW, as I write and you read. The past is remember so differently by each of us, it's little more than an illusion, so let's only dwell on the good memories! And, the older we become, the more we seem to have one foot into the future. Growing old hurts, but it sure is fun!
About Charles Munn
Short Bio: As a teen, I toyed with sculpting, but painting took over. I worked with, and learned from some very good artists. Wrote a couple of books: Paradise Now and Becoming The Thinker: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0738803952/qid=973109424/sr=1-3/103-1156231-7357428 Showed and sold in the USA, England, Europe and parts of Asia. Became a full time painter in 1977. Still at it and will probably continue until I die. Each of my prints (Giclees) are limited to 10 editions. Long Bio: Sketching people and places is a natural, childlike thing. Yet, unlike most children, I couldn't give it up. One of THE BOYS! My dashing cousin has finally painted himself! Charles, you have the youthful smile of your Uncle Charles, The Beachcomber, and the sweetness of Grandpa Peterson's eyes! You are clearly a man with zest for life who's younger than your years! Handsome portrait!
Charles Munn replied:
Oh, Mary Jane, thank you so much for your kind words! I didn't do a self portrait because I thought vanity might get in the way of a likeness... Not to say that I'm not now vain, only that I have nothing to be vain about.. Still, I strongly suspect that I flattered the old goat!
