Description
This print is limited will be deleted after 5 more editions.
This is my uncle Charles Peterson, a happy soul who found his old straw hat while beach combing. In the words of his daughter, and my cousin, Mary Jane, "Daddy
found joy in life's simple things."
My normal portrait price, from a sitting, or a decent photo, on an 16"X20" stretched canvas, starts at $400. ( Phone, 1 253 549 7700, for an appointment at my Fox Island WA, studio/gallery.) But I really wanted to do a painting of this particular photo, which happened to be tiny, grainy, and dark. I normally won't work from such a poor quality photo, and it nearly drove me even nuttier than usual, but uncle Charles' obvious love of life was irresistible!

Excellent portrait Charles. I feel the life!
Charles Munn replied:
Thank you, Jim... I'm still striving to find the poetry of your loose brush and muted lines!

'Then there's the wonder of my Eyes, Where hills and houses, seas and skies, In waves of light converge and pass, And print themselves as on a glass, Line, form and color live in me, I am the Beauty that I see, Ah! I could write a book of size About the wonder of my Eyes,...."The Wonderer" by Robert Service
